Like most kids, Elle grew up hiding from thunder storms under pillows. Now in her 20s, she has experienced so many of them, both figuratively and literally, she isn’t afraid anymore. Taking inspiration from various bands Icon For Hire, Paramore, Charlotte Sands, Bastille, and Tenth Avenue North, Elle’s music is the perfect storm. Like most humans, Elle was terrified of upsetting people by being honest with her feelings about her life. Growing up with chronic anxiety and depression while experiencing grief, bullying, joint issues, and a learning disability, Elle felt the world extremely deeply. Relying on playlists and journals, Elle navigated her early years in the world through putting her life into music. After years of learning how to mask her differences to seem normal, she lost her sense of identity.
Elle’s eventual key to freedom was to conquer her fears by giving a voice to her feelings through the music she created. The last name she choose, Taranis, is the Celtic god of thunder which lends to her Irish heritage and to her being fearless. Her music (or her storm) tells of the good, the bad, the ugly she’s experienced in life so far. She tells these stories from her experience and loved ones in a sonic landscape that is best described as punk guitars and drums mixed with the best of modern pop production. Catchy, upbeat, and insightful, you’ll find her music stuck in your head and playing on repeat on your playlist.
